Impostor Syndrome - I can't do this, can I?

Goal: Development of strategies against self-doubt and uncertainties in the academic career.

Target audience: Post-docs, junior group leaders, and researchers in later career stages.

Benefits for your career phase: Overcoming the Impostor Syndrome to feel more confident, apply for challenging positions, and successfully navigate the academic career.

Brief description: The Impostor Syndrome describes the psychological phenomenon where individuals doubt their abilities despite objective achievements and often attribute their success to external factors or luck. The fear of not being capable or simply not good enough undermines confidence and hinders professional advancement. Affected individuals tend to hold back, refrain from applying for challenging positions, and often feel stressed and dissatisfied in their careers.

This seminar focuses on developing strategies to overcome self-doubt and uncertainties, supporting you in strengthening your confidence and realistically assessing your own achievements so that you can successfully shape your academic career.

Trainer: Dr. Taiya Mikisch designs and implements mindfulness and resilience seminars as an expert for the target groups of students, researchers, and university employees. With her knowledge of the academic context, she enables practical workshops and individual consultations. Participants develop individual, body-oriented mindfulness practices under her guidance to competently and resiliently navigate the university environment.
