Career development through health promotion

Workshops for early-career researchers

In a constantly evolving research landscape, (early-career) researchers not only play a crucial role as researchers but also are significant trailblazers for innovation. At the same time, both the doctoral process and subsequent career path are associated with high levels of work and time commitment, as well as considerable uncertainties in career planning and marked by various challenges. Here, the Heine-Center for Sustainable Development at HHU offers for the first time in 2024 a qualification program for (early-career) female researchers, which as part of professional development, focuses specifically on health-related aspects.

This program tackles the specific challenges of different career phases positively, aiming to strengthen resilience, promote a healthy work-life balance, and impart sustainable coping strategies. The support provided by the program enables individuals to navigate these phases of their scientific career with more resilience and develop positive perspectives for a balanced and sustainable lifestyle. Key topics include stress management, cognitive and emotional load, resilience building, confidence in times of change, and the development of a healthy leadership style. Participation is free for HHU researchers and offers not only the opportunity for further education in a stimulating environment but also for professional exchange with colleagues.
