Pilot project: “Healthy Working” at HHU.
Unfavorable working conditions not only impair employees’ well-being and health, but also cause stress and inhibit productivity and creativity. HHU is therefore currently offering interested units and institutes, as part of a pilot project, the opportunity—with expert support—to engage with the topic of “Healthy Working” and to develop and evaluate health-promoting measures tailored to their own unit.
Why should you take action?
Quite simply: stress prevention brings many benefits:
It promotes health, well-being, and joie de vivre.
It promotes motivation, productivity, and employee retention.
It shows your appreciation for employees.
It increases motivation and satisfaction.
How does the project work?
“Healthy Working” does not provide ready-made solutions; instead, it aims to work together with the participating units to develop suitable measures.
Initial meeting: The project team carries out a stocktaking of the status quo together with those responsible for the participating units and, on this basis, advises on a concept for the further approach.
To assess working conditions, surveys (online or paper-based) and workshops are possible options.
Based on the results, health-promoting measures are derived collaboratively with the unit. The project team supports the implementation of the measures.
How can I participate?
All academic units and institutes at HHU can make use of this offer free of charge. The time required for an initial meeting is a maximum of 1.5 hours; thereafter it depends on the agreed approach and is coordinated with the participating units according to their time availability.
The data collected in the project are handled sensitively by those responsible in accordance with the applicable requirements and are used exclusively for an institute-specific status analysis and for deriving corresponding measures. The evaluation of the project focuses on process management and will not contain any information about individual institutes.
Interested parties can apply to participate at gesunde.arbeit(at)hhu.de and arrange a non-binding initial meeting.
Who is behind it?
The project is carried out by a team of psychologists and health scientists from the Institute of Occupational, Social and Environmental Medicine led by Prof. Dr. Peter Angerer. Analyzing working conditions, and developing and evaluating health-promoting measures, has been a research focus of the institute for years. The project is led by Dr. Mathias Diebig, supported by two research associates, Ms. Heming and Ms. Pavlista. The project runs from August 2022 until the end of 2023.
The project is coordinated by Dr. Mirja Otten, Head of the Health Section at HCSD.
